Are there podcasts available for American Top 40 radio shows from the 80s?
And by “available” I mean legal and from a reputable web site or service that won’t give me computer herpes.
I’d prefer to download so I can listen offline but I’d settle for streaming. I’ll even use a pay service if there is one available.
All my searching has turned up so far is websites I’ve never heard of and I am extremely leery of following the links.
I’m not familiar with iHeart Radio myself, but they’re apparently reputable enough that Wikipedia linked to them.
Thanks - it’s playing right now. Not sure what show is playing but it’s something from the 80s (Sheena Easton Morning Train). Not quite as convenient as being able to download and take them with me, but this will be fun listening!!
Installed the iPhone app and now I can stream on the go.
iheartradio isn’t bad if you are on wifi or have unlimited data. I stream a lot of podcast and end up getting close to my data cap, so I try to plan ahead and download. Something I’ve enjoyed recently is the Coverville Podcast and it seems to have a large number of older songs (a good bit of 80s stuff) and some newer stuff as well. Each song is covered by other artists and they do a nice little show.
I use the PodcastAddict app on Android. It has some small issues but overall but it works for me pretty well. You can search on it and find a large number of podcasts to try out. I hate to say it that way, but it may be a good place to start. I’m a little odd about which things I listen to, so I would say try a lot of podcasts until you find one you really enjoy.
