America's first gasoline/electric hybrid

It’s the Honda Insight, boasting 61/70 mpg. I thought the concept was great, but the car was electric-lime-green & too futuristic looking. How do you think oil companies will react to this? I’m sure they’ve been anticipating something along these lines for a while.

Allow me to direct your attention here to MPSIMS for a discussion of the Honda and the Toyota.

In light of California’s law requiring that all cars sold in the state be ‘zero-emission’ cars by some date in the relatively near future, one assumes the gasoline companies have known for some time of the possibility, yes.

I’d give you the citation for the regulations, but I can’t access California’s Bureau of Automotive Repair regulations.
