If anyone else out there has the Blue from American Express with the smart chip and the smart chip reader (serial port), I have a question. Mine has been working just fine since I began using it quite a while ago, but recently when I went to upgrade it I had a problem. Since the upgrade was giving me a problem, I figured that I would just uninstall it, and install the newer one (as opposed to upgrading the older one). Anyways, once I uninstalled the older one, I had even more problems. What I (think I) need to know is how to compleatly remove all traces of this one ever being on the computer so that I can start clean. I already went through the registry and deleted anything that appeared to have anything to do with it, I used the uninstaller, I deleted the directories and everything in them (not in that order though), but I still missing something. The icon is still in the Control Panel as well as whatever program it is linked to. And I’m still having problems installing the new one. Everything on the AMEX website about uninstalling just says to call customer service, but I’m worried that they’ll be like any other clueless tech support, especially considering I’ve already half uninstalled it. Any ideas? Anyone know what to do? Maybe I’ll end up just calling them anyways, they can’t really make it any worse, and if I just give up it’ll never work on this computer again.
