An 1830's Style MMP

We decided not to go to the beach tomorrow, so my pace for chore=doing slowed down considerably. Just laundry. I did strip the bed and wash all the linens, including the blanket and comforter.

Tonight dinner shall be beef kebabs, twice baked potatoes, sallit and sauteed mushrooms.

Oh! I need to go bake the cake soon! I’m gonna make a yellow/fudge swirl Bundt cake, with chocolate glaze.

Mmm, cake.

PapaJohn made supper. It’s dark out now. I foresee an early bedtime. That’s all I’ve got.

MWAH!!

Irked, came home, watching Canes hockey and chilling. and texting with the “just friend”

Not sure what my relatives were doing in the 1830’s, probably doing the same thing I’m doing now: drinking and screaming at people who aren’t actually there.

{{{{soapy}}}}

in the 1830s, patriarchally, we were still in Russia; matriarchally, only just left Eastern Europe for the United States

Hmmm, in the 1830’s part of Mom’s family was associated with the main hacienda here. We’re related to Romero de Terreros somehow. I imagine I’d know if we were direct descendants, so I’m guessing he’s some kind of great uncle.

On Dad’s side, I’m pretty sure everyone was either in Ireland or in Germany.

We went to a local BBQ and wings place (yummmmy) and started watching both the baseball and football games. When last seen, it was pouring in Texas, so we’re just watching football right now. And I’m still very full, although I didn’t eat all that much.

Hope everyone’s having a relaxing Saturday night ( ::looks pointedly at Soapy:: ).

Hugs.

1830s? My family was still in Poland. My grandfather as born in 1867, so I guess in 1830 his parents were probably still there, too.

Migraine with visual components going strong on day 4. Just realized the trouble reading and flashes of light were part of a visual migraine. :smack:

Moderately restful- was with my family for Yom Kippur. Hanging with family is not always restful.

Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy I get to have some nastygram fun.

Some idiot Virginia lawyer sent me a solicitation to represent me on my speeding ticket case. He wants $200 to take the case, to try to beat a $151 ticket that I acknowledge as being valid. Nice try, asshole, but I didn’t fall off the turnip truck yesterday.

I may post my soon to be expletive laden missive to this clown, but it may have to go to the Pit and I link to it.

:D:D:D

My nastygram. The firm name is changed to protect the contemptible.

Does it need more cussing?

yes.

eta my brother just went through the same thing earlier this week

Howdy all! So sorry to have been absent most of this week, but my brother was in ABQ!!! Rosie’s .sig to all - I’m so wiped out I can’t even do coding any longer. I’m glad to hear that you -finally- got to the doc, though, Rosie. Sorry that the toe is broken. :frowning:

Went up to Santa Fe on Wed., and to Las Vegas where my son is - so glad that my brother got a chance to see him and vice versa. Thursday, we tried to go on the tram, which was closed due to high winds (!) and one of the local casinos. My brother showed me his favorite slot machine, the Wizard of Oz penny slots, and I played $20 in there. Had fun, but fortunately for me discovered that one round was enough. LOL When he played, though, he hit a small jackpot! His picture got taken and he may appear in ads for the Sandia Resorts casino. After that, he quit! He had also hit a smaller jackpot the day before, near Santa Fe!! My brother is Mr. Lucky. It only takes two hours on the plane to Albuquerque from San Francisco, so hopefully we will see more of my brother and his partner Mike in the months to come. They -finally- got to see the balloons this morning - the fiesta events had been cancelled pretty much since they arrived on Tuesday due to weather and/or high winds. They went to the park this morning early and saw the mass ascension up close and personal. I watched on tv, thank you very much. It was so cold that it had snowed on the peaks of the Sandia mtns!!

They fly home tomorrow at noon, so we went out to dinner tonight and then drove along the tramway and were able to see the Balloon Fiesta last night fireworks from there–what a beautiful sight! I had such a good time and so enjoyed being able to be with my brother and Mike. They are a wonderful pair, I love them very much.

Hope everyone had as enjoyable a Saturday as I did, and have a good day tomorrow as well.

so, no superpowers, then? too bad.

None that I’d admit to… in public.

Good Mornin’ Y’all! Up and caffienatin’. YAWN ‘Tis 64 Amurrkin out with a predicted high of 80. Also, it’s rainyish out. I say rainyish cause it’s rainin’ but very lightly at the moment. Forecast says rain today and tomorrow. We shall see.

I went AWOL for most of yestiddy. Mostly I goofed off around da cave. The beast stew turned out gooooooood!!! It was dindin last night and will be N.O.L. today. The rest has been put into containers and frozen for later use. It’s so nice to have stuff like that to thaw and nuke.

Soapy hope the haid is better.

Herbs yay for brother visit!

BBBobbio with stuff like that there, more cussin’ is always needed IMHO.

Everybody else, yays, boos, hugs, grope, noogies, trouts, pointy sticks, how you doin’s as needed.

I go in search of more caffiene and the feedin’ of rumbly tummy. Then purtification for deheathenization must commence. Today I am a Lector (not the cannibal kind).

Happy Sunday Y’all!

Awake, freezing my butt off. It’s 54° and feels like about 45° in. Love the house and love the wooded lot but sometimes it would be nice to get some sun in here to warm things up a tad. Not that it’d be helping right now because the sun hasn’t finished rising yet.
Off to the final flea market of the year at Hubbardston with my mom and step dad. I have to drive because their car is overheating. This should be interesting. My step dad wont drive anyone else’s vehicle and my mom gets very carsick in the back seat so my step dad will have to climb in, bad back and knees and all. He might decide to stay home. I don’t think he even likes flea markets. He just goes because my mom doesn’t drive if she can help it.
I am very tired. Slept a somewhat normal schedule on Friday and Saturday. Tried again last night but the body and the dogs weren’t cooperating. I got an hour sleep before the dogs jumped on my head and woke me up. Took me 5 hours to fall back to sleep.
Blurf.

Wow, I missed a whole bunch of posts from yesterday. It’s really cool that you know where your family was back then, Shadow.

I’m posting from my new iPad. Yay! My iBook is very rattly and I really wanted something I could take to DC with me on Wednesday. (I’d considered whether the iTouch would be enough and decided it wouldn’t be.

Gotta say this is a very cool thing. Although typing really long posts with lots of coding will take a while.

Gotta go find breakfast.

Hugs all.

It’s raining!!! Good thing we decided not to go to the beach. 60% chance all day. w00t!

Caffeination in progress, and it’s almost time to make our traditional big Sunday breakfast.

The dogs are tracking mud all over the house, and all over me. <sigh> Oh well, the rain is so very welcome, I’ll deal with it.

Morning all!

We are making brekkie as we speak - well mr ems is making biscuits from scratch then we will make bacon and eggs. Or I might have an omlette…decisions decisions.

I am headed to clean the little bathroom in a bit we scrubbed the house yesterday vacummed, steam mopped, kitchen sparkles and dusting and there is only the the bathroom sinks left to do. May as well go do them.

We went out for lunch yesterday to a local all you can eat catfish place. mr ems hurt himself on the catfish. I had a big plate of salad and a bunch of shrimp and some corn fritters. Yummy! It has rained here since about 3PM yesterday. We desperately needed it.

Enjoy your Sunday everyone!

Afternoon all!

I know exactly where my family were in 1830-not just what country, (England, all of ‘em for hundreds of years), but what village on me mum’s side- ‘cos they’re mostly still there! Have a big family farm an their own church wi graveyard an allsorts, been there for ages and married their cousins constantly… Makes tracin’ em a bit like shootin’ fish in a barrel (if a little confusing when they have the same names so much), even if it does make me want to re-count my toes afterwards.

T’other side worked in’t cotton mills oop north, and lived about 3 generations to a house, though I think that house went when the area got poshified. The family name is a local dialect word, and it seems they’ve been in the area for hundreds of years, if not more.

Anyway- sad news; my magical mystery fish, he that reappeared on me, was ded in the tank last night :frowning: Can’t say I’m totally surprised; he didn’t look very well, but I thought he was starting to look better. Was going to get some more fishies tomorrow, but I s’pose I’d better leave it a bit now, just in case he’d caught something nasty (other than death).

Should be going to do my washing, but I have to carry it down to the laundrette, 'cos we don’t have a washing machine and it’s raining, so I’m desperately thinking of excuses. I can probably make it one more day before I smell unbearable.

Happy sunday all  !

Up and caffeinated. I’m off to deheathanated, then do laundry. I foresee vacuuming today, there’s enough undercoat coming off Teddie the Sheppard to reupholster half the dogs in the MMP.

up, sleeeeepy, fed the kittehs indoors and out >^.^< ~
considering back to bed but I have house & home works to do.
