An album with an old friend

For the last few months an old university friend & I have been collaborating on an album of assorted tracks. It’s finally ready, so I thought I would share a pointer.

There isn’t any theme as such, just a collection of songs… I like to think of it as being like the White Album (as if)!

We don’t expect to make any money out of this: it’s more just an exercise of our craft.
But if any moderator disapproves… move or delete as appropriate.

Out of curiosity, has anyone else here worked on this kind of collaborative music creation?

We live several hundred miles apart, so we don’t attempt any kind of realtime interaction: we just email vocal or instrumental tracks back & forth and import them into our respective DAWs.

Also if anyone has any interest in getting involved in a collaborative project like this, by all means message me. We could really use a good blues harp player and sax player… neither I nor Harley have any ability on those instruments!

I just heard that my friend has died suddenly. A sad shock. Too many of my old friends from University days are starting to leave us….

We had almost finished recording tracks for our second album.

It’s up to me now to produce and finish it in a way he would have been proud of. I’ll publish it when it’s ready….

I like it! Did you write these songs or are they covers?

Sorry about your friend. :frowning:

Thanks. They are all originals, written or co-written by me and/or David Harley, about 50/50. I shall miss my friend, collaborator and musical sounding-board… :frowning:

Yes, that must be hard. I’ve listened to about half of them so far. Good stuff.
