An IE7.0 Question

I’m using Internet Explorer 7.0 for general browsing and one of the things I use a lot is the tabbed browsing feature. I especially use it for this board as it has a tendency to hang from time to time so I just read another thread while it’s loading.

Lately (the past five or so days), though, about 60% of the time that I open up a new tab, the browser will freeze for maybe 4-5 seconds and the new tab will say “Connecting…” before it starts to load. Additionally, even when it doesn’t freeze for a few seconds, maybe about 10 seconds later, I’ll get the “Internet Explorer has encountered a problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience.” error and the browser will shut down.

I’ve re-booted, I’ve uninstalled and reinstalled the browser, and I still don’t know how to fix the problem (outside of using another browser, smartasses! )

Any ideas?

Any add-ons in IE7? Done any windows updates recently? Not done any windows updates in a long time? Any other software installation?

I did add the most recent version of AdAware, but that’s the only program I can think of. It’s possible that that is screwing with it, but I thought by reinstalling it, that would solve the problem.

I do the Windows updates pretty regularly, I have it scheduled and I just reboot when asked.

Just one bump
