Are we certain that all of you asking chatgpt to scour the SDMB are helping? Or is the AI menace simply too far unleashed by now for that to be a concern?
Same here. As I mentioned above, it doesn’t scroll through every one of your posts. As best I can make out, it just gets a small sample. When I asked it how many posts, it said 4-8. I believe that to be incorrect. It’s more than that. But it’s hardly your whole posting history. It cannot do that, at least not as of this writing. I’ve had it look through long threads to help me find some info and it completely failed at that, not being able to go through all the posts, and I used the thinking mode on that one.
I’ve got a paid Copilot licence and tried using both ChatGPT and Claude Opus and got wildly different results. ChatGPT gave a good summary of my history and posting style but couldn’t identify my career or location, both of which I’ve been pretty open about on here. When I ran it through Claude on the other hand p, it quickly identified where I lived and what I did for a living and even joked that FinsToTheLeft sounded a lot like me!
No doxxing was revealed by either model.
I wonder how much of that was a genuine comparison, and how much was it concluding that that was probably you based on you being the one asking the question. A human would consider that a natural conclusion, but would a bot? I don’t know.

It actually seemed to prioritize posts about me. And then my replies to those posts. It also didn’t seem to get any personal details, just personality. Though I didn’t do much messing with the prompt to direct it towards the type of data I wanted.
