The company for whom I work achieved a milestone on the 12th; their (in light of this post, I guess I should say “our”) stock hit $20 (not an e-stock; been around since 1963).
I work in a small district office; headquarters is in Tulsa and I manage to have little to do with anyone but the four or five big dogs up there (and occasional interference from the IT folk). So tonight when I get home, there’s an unexpected letter from the company. It’s from the Chairman of the Board (semi-retired guy who started the company) noting the stock milestone and includes a $20 bill.
Hah! If this was the sort of company that offered zip in other benefits I guess I’d be amongst the other dopers who made bitter appearences on the Xmas bonus threads. But their compensation and other bennies are fine and this was like the boss buying dinner tonight.
Cool move! I’m sure they bagged a bargain in employee/employer goodwill for a few thousand bucks.
