Don’t know what kind of laptop you have, but I myself just picked up one of these:

I never in my LIFE would have thought to buy an E-machines product, but I read such good things about it online after eyeballing it at Best Buy and the price was so good I gave it a shot. It’s got a wide-aspect screen, an AMD Athlon 64 (not no crummy celeron or duron processor) and an ATI Radeon 9600 with it’s own memory (not no crummy shared memory – gotta watch out for that.) Throw in wireless-G and you’ve got a gaming rig that goes anywhere. The gaming performance is OUTstanding – though the HD could be a little faster. (Some only ship with a 4200 RPM drive, some have 5400.)

Some places have been offering rebates that knock it down to $1299.

Gaming on a laptop. It’s a beautiful thing.
