An old colleague of mine was voluntarily cannibalized and killed. TM friggin' I.

i just read this whole thread thinking it was just started and wondering why no one had heard of this story earlier. Anyway, the best part is that he said that he interviewed a bunch of other people to be eaten but said they were too weird.

things to make u go umm?

Holy freakin’ %$X#, I wrote for about eight years to a German pen pal named Armin M. I wonder if that is him?!!! Maybe it is a good thing we lost touch. Or maybe this is a common German name? Anyway, its pretty freaky.

Okay, after more investigation I see this is not “my” Armin M. “My” Armin M. has no doubt by this point changed his name.

I am from France and check the French news online on a regular basis and had seen this article, in French

** Zazie ** can you send me the link?
I’m French… I live in Metro Boston… You wanna have dinner, he, he, he ?

Did he mention his profession? The cannibal Armin M. was described as a computer technician.

But, they also described the “victim” Bernd as a “chip designer”, which I suspect was wrong. When I knew him he worked on the software of protocol analyzers. It’s of course possible he went from software to chip design, but I suspect the journalists simply heard he worked for Siemens and thought “Siemens designs chips, he worked for Siemens… he must have been a chip designer!”

It was a while ago, on tf1.fr. I couldn’t find it now! I didn’t realize this thread was opened so long ago!

Hey, I’m a married frog

This is just too…tooo…it goes beyond even disgusting.

Right now, I feel bad for the family members of the people involved. Can you imagine finding out someone in your family did something like this or wanted to have something like this done to them. It is very sad.

I can also pretty much bet this is not representative of the homosexual community.

Revtim, my fellow is too young to be the cannibal. He is only in his 20s. When we wrote, he was too young to have a profession. If he decided to go into computers in the years after we lost touch, well, that would probably be even more reason for a name change!

Me too, I was just kidding, inviting you for dinner… where you would be the ‘plat de résistance’

The amazing thought that I have now is how many clinically brain damaged people are living among us? The first news I had when I came in Boston 3 years ago was the McDermott shooting. Man, I work in Wakefield now! Brrr…

Who around me is ready to snap?
Who around YOU is ready to snap?..

oh yeah French Frog, I remember the Wakefield shootings… Scary indeed.

There may actually be a serial killer in my neighborhood. One young woman was found dead, and the first thing the cops said was “serial killer”. Now I thought serial meant there has to more than one… Perhaps there was some aspect of the killing that fits the serial killer profile, even if there was only killing.

An elderly man also disappeared recently, but that unfortunate occurence happens fairly frequently; there is a large elderly population here (S Florida) and folks sometimes get confused and wander off. Usually they turn up OK, I think.

Never to be queen: hheeeheee stop making me laugh! This is serious…snorts trying not to laugh

I agree with everyone that we live in a very screwed up world.

I had a weird shock last night. I saw “Monster” with Charleze Theron yesterday, the movie about Aileen Wuornos (sp?), the Florida hitchhiking hooker/serial killer.

The film was in my mind, and I start thinking about how similar Wuornos was to a woman I ran into at West Palm Beach several years ago. I came out of a drug store, and parked next to my car was a old car with a woman in it. She was wearing large sunglasses, and I never got a real good look at her face. The car was packed with stuff, and the impression I got was this was all her possessions in the world. She asked me for a light, which I gave her from my dashboard lighter.

She gave me her story, which IIRC was that she had just got out of jail for assualting her husband, and she was traveling to meet her kids. She asked for a few bucks, which I gave her. Then she said something which really shocked my young ears (Iwas in my early 20s), she said something like “you did something nice for me, I should something nice for you. Or maybe my daughter can.” The daughter bit weirded me out tremendously.

I pretty much ignored the statement. We might have chatted a bit more, and then I left for the airport (which was why I was in West Palm to begin with, to fly to visit my parents).

It didn’t occur to me until late last night that woman may have been Wuornos. I felt the blood run out of my head; if I wasn’t in bed I might have had to sit down.

But, looking the time frames, today I see it likely happened after Wuornos was in custody. But man, for a moment there I was freaking out.

I read the other day that the guy wound up on a manslaughter charge as it was consensual and therefore not murder. It is indeed a strange world but to be honest I agree with the ruling, he didn’t actually murder him now did he?

I don’t know if it kosher to bump this since it’s been so long, but Cecil’s column today mentions this case.

Y’know, I never thought the whole “Body and Blood of the Lord” was a big deal until now.

shudder

No wonder the crowd around Jesus was like, “WTF???”

(Great, now I have this mental image of Jesus doing some gang sign whilst saying: “Eat me.” :smack: )

When the topic is canabalism, could we might maybe not use the word kosher.
