Slam Keillor all you want, but leave my man Feldman alone!
Keillor has done more to promote the dopey, boring midwesterner stereotype than any man in history, but Feldman, who broadcasts from Wisconsin, is hip, funny, and entertaining.(although he probably should keep away from the political stuff, not his forte)
Um, Rasta, I hate to break it to you, but public radio is a bastion of liberal, left wing politics. You should stick with am talk radio. It’ll help keep that blood preesure down…
Has Michael Feldman become funny recently? I agree with the OP on GK. I’ve listened to the show, and enjoyed parts of it, but lately I can’t stand the pretension. I’ve also had it with GK breathing heavily into the mic when telling his “News from Lake Wobegone.” Gross! Blow your nose, man.
Ugh- that reminds me of the sheriff from King/Bachman’s Rage who breathed heavily into the intercom when he was trying to negotiate for the release of hostages. The teenager who took the hostages berated him a bit for not taking more care with his elocution in a life-or-death situation.
Hey now, I love GK. The nose whistling during “News From Lake Wobegon” is unpleasant, but I really like most of Prarie Home Companion. Especially the ketchup advisory board sketches, those were pretty great.
Is it me, or are the conservatives a LOT MORE PISSY in the last few days??? FUCK ME, I WONDER WHY???
Get with the program- if it was good for the goose, then it’s good for the gander. Let’s SEE Democracy in action now that the entire United States Government isn’t Republican. One shudders to think what Rush Limbaugh’s systolic is these days.
Figures Jeffords is from Vermont. Takes a strong spine to do what he did. Must be alla that milk
Proof once more that it all depends on whose ox is gored (you will pardon the obvious pun). The fact remains that pointed humor aimed at whoever might be in power at the moment is a mainstay of popular humor. I suppose that there were a fair number of sore-heads who didn’t like Will Rogers’ delivery either. For God’s sake, get a life.
We call the stereotypical picture of small town life self depreciating humor. It’s not unlike telling the C students at Yale that they too can become President.
Actually, let them use the same old material, and just get yourself a new radio program.
At least Clinton was more fun to make fun of. Bush is not much fun at all, he seems all business, all the time, like he is trying to do a job or something…
Shit, that last line just depreciated before I even finished typing it.
