I got this in an e-mail this morning, and I can’t figure out the answer - a friend’s nephew was playing a game and this came up as part of it (the game was Text Twist. I’ve never played, so I don’t know the rules).
Is there a six letter word that can come from the letters C-A-R-P-S-O?
I can’t seem to find one - I’ve plugged the letters into online anagram finders, I figure they could well miss something. Then I thought, “aha! The dopers! They know everything.”. So I’m throwing it out to the people out there in Dopeland to see if there is, in fact, an answer for this.
I considered that, qts, but I can’t seem to verify that copras is a valid plural - and given the definition of copra, it doesn’t make sense.

Ok, I went over to my university library and checked the OED online, and I don’t see a plural listed there, so I’m not at all sure that it’s the right word.
… I puzzled over it for a while… then cheated and consulted an online anagram generator. (yeah… i took the easy way out… I fail. )
Copras was the only word they could make without splitting it into two words (like A CROPS).
By the way, i play text twist… at the end of a round, it tells you all the combinations you missed. The person who was playing (your nephew, did you say?) should have seen the actual answer by now; check with him to see if COPRAS is right. (unless he maybe missed it or something.)
