And If There Was Any Doubt About Dumbfucks in Detroit

Sorry, but it’s not my job to substantiate your claims.

On the other side, we have obstinate rationality.

His name is “Wagoner”.

There is another way to look at it. You could buy a more fuel efficient car and sell your gas guzzler to someone else. Then you’d be committing the same offence as the automaker that sold you the gas guzzler in the first place. Society would be no further ahead, in fact the two vehicles in question will be producing more carbon dioxide than your gas guzzler alone, so you might as well enjoy your preferred auto.

Yes, well you seemed to be the only bothered by it.

Since when is some guy’s blog “reality”? You’ve continued to spew your crap about AGW being a myth despite having your ass handed to you a number of times, I’m not about to waste any of mine debating you on the matter because it’s quite clear that you’ll continue to ignore the facts of it.

Ha- that last thing I want is a car that runs on diesel. The gas station near my house has diesel for something like $3.75 per gallon- even higher than what I pay for premium. No thanks.

Whether I’m bothered or not, I will draw my own conclusions.

 I have no idea what your point is.

Lol. i.e. it’s quite clear that you will continue to ignore the facts.

It’s what all the cool kids are doing now.

Yeah, but a diesel will get nearly double the mileage of your current vehicle (some of the new diesels outperform hybrids). Plus, if you’ve got a friend who owns a restaurant, you can get them to give you the leftover oil and run your diesel on that. (Of course, your exhaust will smell like french fries.)

As is obvious.

Next time don’t bring a knife to a gunfight.

You mean ones like despite your best efforts to convince people that AGW is a myth, you’ve failed to convince anyone here of that? No, I don’t ignore those at all. Nor do I ignore the fact that 99% of the people claiming AGW to be a myth are either undegreed wankers or are in the pockets of the oil companies. You OTOH. . .

Ummm . . . does that mean I shouldn’t try to use logic to understand your nonsense?

Ok.

Lol. I guess that means the “consensus” is against me.

But anyway, I’m talking about the facts that show catastrophic AGW is, to put it bluntly, a crock of shit. The facts that you have ignored.

No, it means that if you’re going to claim the moral high ground, you shouldn’t post some wankfest to back up your position.

As is reality. (Damn that lefty bias of it.)

It’s kind of hard to ignore what isn’t there. We’ve got animal and plant extinctions because of AGW, rising sea levels which threaten to wipe islands off the map in a couple of years, freakin’ tornadoes in the middle of winter (when they’re normally a spring or summer phenomena), and shit loads of other data. You, OTOH, simply continue to spout that it’s all in our imaginations.

I was behind a converted bus yesterday that was burning used cooking oil- it smelled heavenly (I am on a diet). In fact, it was this one, from CommonVision dot org. It was very cool.

I have noticed that diesels tend to spew icky, reeking black smoke when I am behind them. Is that better than the mostly invisible emissions from my current car? Seriously.

It’s a different type of pollution. Rather than carbon dioxide, diesels emit oxides of nitrogen and more particulate matter (soot). Given that pollution is cumulative, would you rather have a lot that you can’t see, or less that you can?

Incidentally, in order to meet the new diesel regulations, newer diesels are pretty clean, and light-years cleaner than the old shake-you-to-pieces rattraps that they used to be.

In addition to what Airman Doors, USAF said, biodiesel burns cleaner than fossil fuel diesel and has less soot particulates. Some of the new diesels qualify as very low emissions vehicles because their exhaust is so clean.

Diesels (not Biodiesels) emit just as much CO2 as Gasoline.

Per gallon or per mile driven? And why is biodiesel different than diesel carbon emissions wise ?

Only in that very limited scenario. Overall, millions of older cars head the scrapyards each year, and as the old poorly-fuel efficient ones die off, the newer, more efficient ones will be the ones handed down. Plus there’s a very good chance that someone who is tighter on money may be on the lookout for a car that uses less gasoline, as opposed to just taking a used dinosaur.

Per gallon, IIRC. Biodiesel’s different because the chemical make up of it is diferent than fossil oil.

But it’s ok for you to “post some wankfest,” right? That’s just bringing a gun to a fun fight. Or something like that.

Which species and which islands?

Would that include the Great Southern Tornado Outbreak of February 19, 1884?

Many are underwater or in danger- Kiribati, the Maldives, the Marshalls, bits of India…

Cites here , here , here, here, and here, and that only took me a minute and I never got off the first 1/2 page of results.

Okay, so that last cite isn’t about an island… but Louisiana is pretty important too!
