RobbieFal, he also shot Predator in Mexico. Puerto Vallarta and some of the surrounding villages to be exact. I know – I used to live there (and hiked several times to one of the waterfalls used in the movie, as well as went by horseback to where the shell of the helicopter they blew up still sits in the jungle).
Thank god you reposted that remark with the smiley, because otherwise the other idiots and I wouldn’t have ever been able to figure out you were joking.

Also from the Arnold front, as quoted on Doonesubury’s website, “I believe gay marriage should be between a man and a woman.” Truly, the man is beginning to rival our fearless leader in his inability to master the English language, but at least Arnold has the excuse of actually being from another country.
I can’t believe this line is getting the coverage that it is. I actually listened to the interview in which he said it and I think it is important to put it in context.
Arnold was being interviewed by Sean Hannity and up to this point had not really said what his position was on anything. Hannity asked him if he could quickly fire a bunch of questions at him about his positions and get quick one or two sentence responses. Arnold agreed and Hannity started firing off about 50 questions. One of them was “How do you feel about civil unions for gays?”. Arnold responded “I am absolutely for civil unions for gay people.”. Hannity then asked how he felt about gay marriage. Arnold responded, "I think the term “marriage” shouldn’t be used. Hannity then asked “So you are for gays being able to have civil unions but you don’t think the term “marriage” should be used?” Arnold responded “Yes, I think gay marriage should be between a man and a woman.”
It was just a slip of the tongue during a very rapid exchange of ideas, most of which I thought were very straight forward, honest answers. In context, I think his statement was just an honest slip of the tongue in a pressure situation. Hardly the same as Bush’s constant inarticulate fracturing of the language.
Arnold isn’t popular at all with the vocal Chicano activists but I don’t think the average Mexican-American really sees him as a bigot.
This is apocryphal, but years ago a college coach out here in Texas was accused of saying 'n***er" while speaking. His deffense was that he was saying “Negro” (still a half acceptable term then) but in his ‘Mississippi drawl’ it came out sounding like “niggruh” to the audience, but he definitely said “Negro”. - That sure helped with the black community! Anyway I know “Negro” has a ‘historic context’, but why don’t these groups just drop “Negro” and “Colored” from their names?
one that provides tax incentives for latinos to give up their amateur status and enter the professional realm.
The problem is that they can’t compete in the olympics, but the Committee is thinking about changing the rules, like they did for basketball, so that pro’s can compete, cause the chinese have been dominating an event traditionally won by south american countries.
