Wronger yet! How could you not see Obi-wan’s empty cloak and Yoda dematerializing? Nobody notices!
But Vader is cremated.

This never bothered me, since I didn’t see them so much as dying as “becoming one with the Force.” It’s been a while since I’ve watched it, but I’m pretty sure in Ep. IV, Obi Wan dematerializes BEFORE Vader’s saber strikes. From the look he gives Luke it’s pretty clear he knows what he’s doing.
Of course, now that we know that the Jedi are not tuned into the primal mystical force of the universe, but are in fact suffering from some sort of viral infection, that makes no sense.
It’s a testament to Lucas’s incompetence that he managed to make something mystical into utter nonsense by explaining it scientifically. Usually, things work the other way 'round. Boffo job, George.
Vader may very well have faded away leaving just his armor which is all we see of him on the fire.
Is it possible that the midichlorans aren’t the cause of someone’s sensitivity to the force, but rather a symptom observed in those that are strong with the force (i.e. the midichlorans aren’t what give you force powers, they’re just a side effect of your body channeling this mystical primal force of the universe so well)? I mean, I haven’t seen episode 1 since it came out, so I have no idea.
No. He definitely does NOT dissolve. We see his face as he dies. I imagine this is one of the drawbacks of being a Sith; you have to burn out because you can’t fade away.
Maybe it just takes longer to fade away…

IT’S A PYROMANIA!

It isn’t any worse than President Bush.
what about Han saying "where’d you dig that old fossil?
And of course, the line that someone says in every movie:
I’ve got a bad feeling about this…
…I rather like that line…
I know
NoClueBoy, being replied to by you isn’t quite enough to get me excited.
Would you rather kiss a wookie?
It could be arranged.

The disappearing bodies is going to be explained in Episode III. It’s some ancient secret, supposedly, that the Jedi of old were able to do, or something.
I’m not going to complain about Ewan as Obi Wan. Yummy. Although, couldn’t George have had Ewan’s shirt ripped off like he did with Natalie’s? C’mon, how about something for us gals?
You make it so difficult sometimes.
But seriously, folks, I’d like to ask if anyone knows the specifics regarding Anakin’s “birth,” so I can form an opinion on the midichlorians. Please.
“Ancient Chinese secret, huh?”
Maybe it has something to do with Calgon, is what I’m saying.
Why stop with the shirt? Rowr!
I’m not really sure if this counts, but something that bugs me about Star Wars is the missed oppurtunities. In a book that has the screenplays annotated, the annotations point out some of the differences in earlier scripts. IMO, some of the stuff that was scrapped were great ideas. For example, in an earlier draft of a new hope there was mentioned a legend of a man who discovered the force. In earlier drafts of the empire strikes back the rebel fortress on hoth was an ice castle and Darth Vader had a castle overlooking a sea of lava. I imagine there are those on this thread that know that Chewbacca’s planet would have been featured on return of the jedi
