And now... The Vegan Boot, for cruelty free hiking!

Garmont Vegan Light-Midweight Hiking Boots

Good grief.

I don’t get it. Vegan shoes have been around for years.

SOMEBODY MADE A PRODUCT TO APPEAL TO A MARKET OTHER THAN MY OWN! HEAD FOR THE HILLLLLLLLS!

(as it were.)

You know, I hardly think that a pair hiking boots made of synthetic material ranks up there with any of PETA’s finest moments.

So some people prefer not to wear leather. What’s the big deal?

So, it’s all-synthetic materials. What’s the big deal, that they’re marketing it as “vegan”?

You step on a lemming and it’s still gonna squeal like a bitch.

Lemmings squeal? I’ve never heard one? Then again I’ve never seen one either.

And if you get lost and hungry, you can eat them!

Those reminded me of my old green, suede, steel-toed, work boots I bought at wally world back in the day, so I thought, “Hey! I might can find something similar online!”
Would you look at these beauts!

From this site, "The Garmont Vegan Hikers were voted best vegan hiking boot by Veg News readers in 2002, and we think that says it all. "

Yes. Yes, it does.

Products we didn’t know we needed.

I actually just bought a vegan handbag by accident. I actually thought it was leather but when I opened it there was a little vegan credo on the inside.

It’s by Matt&Natt out of Montreal.

Plastic boots?!? That’s it? Darn, I was hoping I could get something that would save the little bugs I step on.

You mean they’re not made from vegans?

Damn!

Yeah. Pretty much.

Leather-free boots? Big whoop!

Won’t someone please think of the poor dinosaurs who died and rotted in deep subterranean caverns for millions of years only to be pumped out as black goo and refined and processed into the synthetic materials these boots are made from???

You people are actually surprised that this product exsists? Why? I mean, you know there are such things as Vegans. Most of them are out-doorsy nature types. What the hell did you think they’d wear when they go hiking? Zoris?

I opened this thread expecting to find out that scientists have finally made anti-grav boots or something (so as to not step on the animals when you walk) but it’s just footwear that doesn’t have any animal by-products in it.

Uh. Okay?

I have a “vegan” walking cast on right now. Fear me or something.

Actually, I thought “The Vegan Boot” would be something angry Vegans give to less committed vegetarians.

“So, you’re a ‘vegetarian’ but you still eat fish? VEGAN BOOT TO THE HEAD!”
