It was supposed to be 20 degrees in Thermal last night. Seriously. I’m sure Palm Springs was in the 30’s overnight, but today I laid out in the sun for over an hour. I’m 30 miles or so east of silenus but no rain for us. We are basically a world apart, due to an 8,000 ft. mountain to the west of me that stops most of the precip. We’ll see. It’s still early…
It’s snowing!
Okay, fine, just a little. But there are most definitely flakes of snow whirling by my window. It’s awesome.
(-2, expected to go down to -5 tonight. Hi, winter, come on in, make yourself comfy…)
Yes, it’s cold now. Yes, I saw a few flakes in the wind. But that’s what winter is like here these days: taunting, tantalising, but rarely ever gets down to a good solid dump of snow.
I await whiteness.
Checking out the 10-day forecast, it looks more seasonal at home: Wet with highs in the mid- to upper-40s. Still some snow on the ground, and the wet roads will likely have ice on them when nighttime temperatures drop to freezing; but it’s looking pretty good.
