...and the best TV show in the history of the universe is:

What, no Glee? (Actually, while that is my favorite show, I definitely would not argue it’s the greatest show ever.)

I voted for The Dick Van Dyke Show, which was brilliantly written and had great characters. It’s also probably the show that’s given me the most laughs over the years. I still laugh my ass off every time I watch “Where Did I Come From?”.

I couldn’t vote. I was torn between Buffy, Breaking Bad, Freaks and Geeks, and Other, The Shield.

Rome deserves a mention, though I voted for one of your already-listed options.

“Ironside.” “Rome” can get in there too, though, maybe after “Then Came Bronson.”

I had to vote “other” because Babylon 5 was not in the list.

I ended voting for Other, Jeopardy!

Where’s “The Family Feud”?

I voted for “Seinfeld,” but my heart was with “Six Feet Under.”

i watch the different shows for different reasons. watching a drama and watching a comedy are different mindsets. i can have the best drama and the best comedy but the best show does not compute for me.

what’s the world’s best piece of music? what’s the world’s best written word? broader but similar unanswerable questions for me.

i did a quick glance at the list. Dragnet triggered the comment. there was a 50s and a 60s version and two later incarnations which were called Dragnet but later had their names modified likely in shame. The 50s show was a drama the 60s show was a campy pseudodrama.

It was tough, but I went with New Who. Community may end up as a solid contender with a couple more seasons under its belt.

Other: The Avengers. Smart, fun, sexy, stylish, entertaining. As soon as I read the OP, that was the series that came to mind. Others also rank high, but i"m comfy with naming The Avengers.

Other: Mythbusters.

Count Duckula.
The Top Secret Life of Edgar Briggs.
Roobarb and Custard.
Gliding On.
Red Dwarf.

Pah - US-centric nonsense.

I just finished season 2 of The Wire ten minutes ago and I’m voting for it.

I voted for MST3K, but The Rockford Files would have given it a run for its money.

I’ve been re-watching the original Law & Order franchise for the 3rd time through.

It wins.

Seinfeld. What a genius. Plus I love his verbage.

The Simpsons*
*1991-2004 (any time after that was pretty much not watchable, as a true Simpsons’ fan)

Read the OP??!! The fucking list is too long to read. :stuck_out_tongue:

Rocky and Bullwinkle!!

Ren and Stimpy!!
