And the Emmy goes to ..,

Will it be Dick Van Dyke?

I dunno. Does any actor want Days of our Lives to be their last hurrah?

If you’re 98, any appearance is better than the alternative.

Apparently he is best friends with one of the actors on the show and did it for fun. He was really just being himself - a song and dance man. The part he played was a long-lost father. He got to know his new family for a couple weeks and then went to live in an old-folks home. :grinning:

I imagine he will win as a sentimental gesture. I think there are only four soap operas left and pickings are slim as it is.

And, yes, I watch Days. I’ve watched it off and on since I was a kid. so nearly 60 years. I picked it up again when I retired and feel like I didn’t miss a thing. There are actors who have been on there for 30, 40, 50 years. It’s definitely a unique form of entertainment. I feel sort of an obligation to watch until the bitter end, which keeps being predicted to be any year now.

Dick Van Dyke, oldest Emmy winner at 98.

“If I’d known I would live this long I would have taken better care of myself.”

Hope there’s no ottoman at the after party.
