And the prize for the most unnecessarily long-winded,repetitve thread goes to:

Will the Tesla Model 3 revolutionize Amercan driving?

Please, fellow Dopers, tell me what’s going on here: Twelve frickin’ pages of repetition.
Now,…it does start off normally, as a legitimite thread:

Somebody asks if Tesla will revolutionize driving, somebody answers that yeah, electric cars are cool, and a lot of people talk about how cool they are or are not and whether they are practical… and then somebody says yeah but it won’t be the Tesla company that does it, it will be the established car companies, so Tesla doesn’t count, so shut up you fool, and somebody says it doesn’t matter who does it, just that it gets done, so shut up you ignoramus, and somebody says the revolution has already begun because Tesla made it cool, so it gets the credit, so shut up again you jerk, and somebody says it doesn’t matter who is cool, it matters who will actually make the cars, so shut up you deaf dumb and blind person…

And then, well…everybody starts saying the same thing again. And again. And again.
Twelve pages of repetition, barely acceptable as an IMHO thread, and none of it worthy of being in Great Debates.

I’m a little embarrassed that I posted in it.

(okay, …so this isn’t a real pitting. But I’m criticizing other Dopers, and I ain’t never done that before, so I put it here.)

Doesn’t matter if Tesla starts the revolution. Edison will just take credit for it.

That’s different from every other thread of that length or longer, how?

I was so certain that prize would go to LinusK.

Tesla fans are annoying. most of them didn’t give one shit about cars until the Model S dropped, then they decided they were experts on the automotive industry.

LOL

I nominate:

We Have Pigeon Eggs!

Should be two posts: the OP, then a recipe for omelets.

But it was Maxwell that laid the mathematical principles; building on Newton and Aquinas.

Either that or he will show how dangerous it is by killing an elephant with one in the most graphic way possible. Those are the most likely outcomes. :stuck_out_tongue:

I haven’t read that thread, but have trouble believing it could be more long, pointless and repetitive than our threads about Zimmerman/Martin, Michael Brown, Sandusky/Paterno/Brawny, and global warming.

No.

I’m right there with you. Wrong Pit thread.

Taken collectively the gun debate threads would win.

All in one thread? That would be impressive.
