And There It Is: Gunman was regular at Pulse

I’m wondering-

All the early reports said “50 Dead”, except this afternoon, they are saying “49”. Did someone get better? How do you fuck that math up?

They probably stopped including the shooter. That seems to be a recent trend.

The gunman himself was reclassified. Not a victim.

Just a WAG, but I assumed when they say 50 dead that they are including the gunman and when they say 49 victims dead, they aren’t .

I may be wrong … I’m going by the wording I saw on CNN this AM.

Indeed. The news here pointed out that the 50 had included the gunman.

I’m amazed the death toll has not risen. There were … what? 53 others wounded?

There are still some survivors in “grave” condition.

Well, I hope they hang on and make it. But this is one of my pet peeves in newspaper headlines, giving body counts. Seems like they always rise dramatically before the paper even has a chance to hit the stands.

The US is the mass murder capital of the world, by a large margin. Our ER doctors gets LOTS of practice treating gun shot wounds.

Anyway, earlier today I watched a video with Anderson Cooper interviewing a former entertainer at the Pulse. He said the Muslim terrorist guy had been going to the club for maybe three years.

It required a lot of reconnoitering. He needed to make sure they didn’t move the washrooms.

Have we seen a copy of the birth certificate? The real one? :smack:

Trump’s? No.

So you are bidding no trumps?

In retrospect, being angry at the sight of two men kissing… Former lover? Someone who rejected his advances? Someone who got a man he wanted?

Jealousy?

Afraid dear old homophobic Dad would find out?

Oh he definitely had a reaction to seeing two guys kissing in public. It was just the wrong two guys.

His reaction to men kissing resembles a phenomenon I’ve noticed in some fat people. The people who are the most critical and opionated about how overweight people act in public are often fat themselves.

I think jealousy is a component of this (“I wish I could not give a damn like them instead of hiding my true self/desires”), as well as shame (“they look so disgusting, why can’t they be like me and act normal/hide their ugliness!!”)

Someone who talks loudly about how much he hates fags is trying to break a mirror.

Thank you. This is the first LOL I’ve had all week.

Funny because a gamer buddy of mine keeps making comments about how he wishes ‘they’ would stop ‘shoving it in our faces’. I replied that I didn’t think anyone was shoving anything in our faces except maybe the Kardassians. But the hindsight response, which I’ll hold for next time, will be to state that I’m confused and do not wish to put words in his mouth, so can he explain what he thinks is being shoved in his face and what he believes the solution is. Then he can either lay out his bigotry or get angry, swear at me and avoid answering.

If he says he doesn’t like gay people being shoved in his face and thinks they should stop being so public, then the easy answer is twofold: 1> Are there other groups that make him feel uncomfortable and he wishes they would hide themselves for his convenience, and 2> Does his discomfort at the existence of others justify diminishing their rights?
