What’s funny is how the thieves kept insisting that the dogs were pit bull puppies even after everyone was telling them that they weren’t.
ID MICROCHIPS?!?!?!!
Why do I feel like I’m being had here? They do this now? Not really into the dog & cat thing, so forgive my ignorance if this is the case.
Yep deathawk, ID microchips have been around for a while. About the size of a piece of rice, they are injected under the skin, usually between the shoulderblades. My babydog got one the day I picked her up, four years ago. Sadly, they migrate. It is now about halfway to her tail, next to her ribcage. I hear that people with chipreaders know that you have to scan the whole dog, not just 'tween the shoulderblades.
Bizarre. Makes sense I guess, although the faint sounds of the footsteps of Orwell & Huxley approaching with that bit of news makes me uneasy. Certainly lent a surreal quality to a story that otherwise didn’t need it on it’s own merits. Thanks for the explanation.
With that out of the way, let me just say
What a gang of doofs!
Love stories like these.
One important thing they learned from this was when it comes to identifying what kind of dog you’ve stolen …
Shop Smart. Shop PetSmart.
“Wonder what these Swedes were doing.”
They’re Norwegians Mac!
You have to wonder what the dogs say about this as they busily sniff each other’s butts. “The other day I was TAKEN and now I have this mysterious metallic object on my neck!”
Sounds like material for a canine X-Files.
