Those of you who read the Dope on your phones, is there an app that you use? If so, what is it?
(I have a dumb phone – it barely makes calls – so I dunno.)
Thanks, I appreciate being educated here.

Smartphones have web browsers just like any other portable computing device. Any “Straight Dope App” would have to be created by the owners of the Straight Dope.
Tapatalk runs on most smartphone platforms, including Android.
I just use my browser- Dolphin Browser HD
Joe
That’s what I use. It’s for the most part pretty good.
I get offered the chance to buy this when I visit the board on my adroid phone.
Best part of this app is that it hosts pictures. So if I take a photo with my phone and want to post on the dope, I don’t have to post it to photobucket (etc), but upload it through Tapatalk and it will host it in one step.
Like wheresgeorge I just use my phone’s browser (Opera in my case). Other than hosting pictures (which I am very unlikely to use) what’s the advantage of using Tapatalk?
Thanks
+1 for Tapatalk
I find Tapatalk adequate. I first tried a free version of it - anyone know if that’s still available?
Tapatalk works pretty well, gets rid of some fiddly bits. I asked about it previously here, and after discussion decided to try it, and was convinced it is an improvement.
Regular browser windows require more zooming and such to read. Each page load needs to be zoomed. Also, I found the edit window on my phone really a pain to use. In order for me to comfortably see what I was typing, I had to size the edit window larger than my phone screen. My phone kept autocentering the window, so typing the text would scroll off the screen where I couldn’t see. YMMV.
App. BWAHAHAHAHAHA! Didn’t anyone else LOL about a Straight Dope App? We are lucky the hamsters are still alive.
