I agree with Fiver. A mullet is a traditional layered short hair cut with just the back left to grow long a la Billy Ray Cyrus’s Achy Breaky haircut.
Conner’s hair is BEGGING to be cut into a traditional layered short hair cut. In fact, I daresay a mullet would be an IMPROVEMENT over his current shapeless coif. I mean, I realize the sun has been blotted out and there are demons everywhere, but is this really an excuse for a bad haircut? Angelus’ hair is still looking sporty.
I think those who are saying it’s really Angel are saying that he got his soul back with the resouling spell, not before. So the Angelus knew the Beast/ Angel didn’t bit would still work.
I agree that it’s really Angelus, though. The only way the Lilah thing can be overlooked would be if he knew Wesley and Gunn were coming up those stairs. Which seems a stretch.
People seem to overlook the fact that he was about to kill that one lady that was being chased by those two vampires. He showed her his gameface before he overheard that one guy saying that the slayer was in town. He couldn’t have been doing that for the teams benefit because they were owhere around and if they were doing it for our benefit, well then thats jusy lousy writing.
I think the fact that we haven’t actually seen Angelus kill anyone(human) on screen is just misdirection on ME’s part, just like the Giles/TFE thing. I think he is still Angelus.
I’m not clear on The-First-Can’t-Touch-Things idea. Selfless was on UPN last Tuesday and it sure looked to me like First!Buffy touched Spike in the basement. I missed Salvage, did Lilah touch Wes enough to move him?
I’d say Fiver’s post, since it relates to Amy Acker, more or less belongs in this thread.
I missed a small portion of Faith kicking ass in the prison yard. I got the impression that was something sent to kill her based on the knife (thanks, The Gaspode), but I didn’t catch the baddie’s dialogue. I also felt this had happened to Faith before, when the guard said something to her about finding it hard to believe anyone would take her on. At any rate, welcome back Faithy!
On the Angel/Angelus question, I agree with Amp’s point that there were too many instances where there was no audience for Angel to be playing to. There was nobody around other than us viewers, so any deception would be pointless. Plus even if he was trying to smoke out a traitor, why pretend in front of Faith once the Beast was dead? She can’t be the traitor, so why risk getting hurt himself or accidently hurting her by staying in evil character and inviting a fight?
I used to really hate the “Five by five” catchphrase, but coming from Wes it was classic.
My big reason for thinking the resouling spell did not work:
Angelus smacked Cordy’s head into the iron bars hard enough to drop her.
If the resouling spell had actually worked, Angel would have had to already have known that Cordy was the bad guy to hurt her like that.
I agree with a previous poster, the spell was to put a whammy on Angelus that would fool Lorne into believing it was Angel so Cordy could arrange for him to be set free.
I thought it was a GREAT episode I nearly cheered when I heard Wes’ five by five comment!
Anyway, all the “bad-girl” said was that it was nothing personal that she was attacking Faith. Why would the First’s minions pick that weak chick to kill Faith?
—I think those who are saying it’s really Angel are saying that he got his soul back with the resouling spell, not before.—
Evil-Cordy was the one that designed the supposed “re-souling” spell, and she has no reason to re-soul Angel, especially given that she apparently wants Angelus around for some reason.
I think that she was also impregnated in Pylea, and that she miscarried.
I wasn’t watching regularly then though, my memory is a little fuzzy.
It’s arguable that the “Buffy” we see in that ep is not The First, it’s just a construct of Spike’s “imagi-sanity”.
In First Date, First!Jonathan’s hand passes right through the cross Andrew brandishes at him. In the previous ep, The Killer In Me, everyone jumps on Giles to see if they can touch him, and determine that he is not The First.
It’s made very clear that The First is non-corporeal and cannot touch people or manipulate objects.
There was also the demon in mid Season 2 that implanted itself in her because they killed a third eye in a little girl, and Cordy grew a third eye herself, but was saved before it could burst out of her head fully grown when some powder was sprinkled over the eye.
They didn’t. Not even when she became part demon. This only happened this season.
Also, she didn’t get pregnant in Pylea. I re-watched the episodes a few weeks ago and she was supposed to ‘cum-shuck’ with the Groosalog (sp?), but nothing came of it. No Cum-shucking, no pregnancy.
Yeah, you’re all right: Angel wouldn’t be acting the way Angelus has been. He doesn’t have his soul back. I was wrong.
And I guess that’s why we’ll be seeing Willow on Angel in a few weeks, since she’s the only non-gypsy who’s managed to return his soul in the past. She didn’t need it in a jar close by, either.
Fiver, before you get your hopes up, I’m pretty sure that they mentioned that Thessalan orbs can only summon souls from the void, and not from jars. Could be wrong, though.
