I think I’m going to have to watch this episode again to properly appriciate it. My enjoyment of it was marred by my assumption that the WB would continue its streak of killing off demon babies in utero, and lo and behold, they didn’t. For once I might have been happier reading the spoilers, who knew?
However, they had to do a Anne Rice-esque cop out on our demon baby, didn’t they. <pouts> Oh no, couldn’t have a cute and cuddly demonic being, now could they? For once I’d like to see that: Anne Geddes does “Rosemary’s Baby,” cute little horns, a tail…Maybe I could pitch the idea to FOX…
I realized as I watched it that I did see the episode Skip was talking about, but for the life of me can’t figure out why, or remember anything about the episode but him. I only saw half a dozen episodes from season 2-3 so there must be some special reason I watched it. Oh well. I’m getting caught up so I’m sure I’ll figure it out eventually.
This episode was so strong that I thought it actually had ended right after Cordy killed that girl. When it continued, I was surprised, but it makes sense that they didn’t, since even Connor might have turned away after that if he’d had time to think about it. Darla looked good, and I liked the shot of Cordy walking out of the room with Darla in the background.
My Angel history is a bit patchy. Did any of the stuff he mentioned (Gunn’s sister, ect) actually happen at a point where it would have distracted the FG from the impending BB? Was there anything there they would have picked up on if they hadn’t been looking at other things?
This is priceless, Tim. Do you mind if I use it as a sig on another board?
I agree that Thea has a good idea on the First’s problems.
Ah, and another point … I was considering starting another thread on this last night, but I hate sucking up bandwidth, so I’ll say it here unless somebody else want to start another thread …
The hottest character in the Buffyverse: VOTE!
As a guy, I simply can’t vote for a male character, and I know so many ladies are just going scream Spike, and I agree that he, as played by James Marsters is terribly attractive, but …
I simply have to vote for Darla. She is so sexy, and that husky voice … yowza.
Does anybody know if the actor was in anything besides Buffy and As Good as it Gets?
Another strong episode. Every actor got good lines, and the plot twisted nicely without becoming absurd. The “its all part of the master plan” was a bit much, but Gunn’s speech nicely offset that.
I’m paying the price today, but that was so worth staying up for. I’m raising my medium Dunkin Donuts coffee to the memory of Skip. I’ll miss him.
What’s with Wesley packing so much heat this season? It’s always strange to see guns in the Jossverse, but I have to say he looks damn good holding one.
Connor is such a dipshit. I know I’ve felt bad for him in the past, but all that flew out the window last night. I think my opinion of him changes episode to episode.
That sketch of Cordy in the beginning was shiver-inducing. Something about it was off, just a tiny freaky bit. Her eyes, maybe? Her smile?
I have no idea. Everyone in Buffy/Angel threads use all sorts of acronyms and I don’t know what any of them are, so I ignore all of them.
Anyway, here’s another thought (boy, I’m full of’em today!). In the same vain as Stormtroopers vs. Redshirts, I suggest we do …
I think Skip’s “Sleeping with the enemy,” dig was meant as backhanded reference to Wes’ relationship with Lilah, but was also really referring to Holtz last season. After all, Wes sleeping with Lilah really doesn’t seem to play any significant role in Connor’s development, but Wes turning the infant Connor over to Holtz obviously did.
As for how Lorne, Fred and Gunn fit into the big master plan, I’m drawing a blank. Hopefully they’ll go into further detail on this.
Now I have to ask: is AH sort for ASH, i.e. Anthony Stewart Head? (this was in a spoiler box, so I wont say what it was in reference too.
And now, my own spoiler box on why Fred might be immune
I was able to pull my eyes away from the spoilers, so I didn’t get an exact answer, but my impression was that Fred is not specially protected in any way because of who she is, but incidentally just happens to be the one that is startled into saneness because of something that happens to her and only her, that the others wont believe.
no, you’re not. It’s bothered me all season that we have these two apocalypses going on so close to one another and their is little to (more often) no cross-reference. IMHO, there has to be a connection.
