Angel Speculations from 10-20 *SPOILERS* of course

So Cordelia back asking “Who are you people?”

It seems she’s gotten kicked back to Human after, apparently, intervening by helping Angel win at the slots.

How are they going to get her memory back?

This is purely speculation, but it is possible that the real Cordy is still stuck up (pun not intended) in the ether, and the “Cordy” who showed up at the hotel is an evil doppleganger come to tempt Angel.

It wouldn’t be the first time the show used some crusty old soap opera device in an ingenuous new way, such as an infant Conner disappearing in one episode only to appear three episodes later as an adult.

Hijack: It didn’t occur to me in last week’s episode (it only struck me when I saw the recap this week), but did it seem strange that Angel was sketching a portrait of Cordy? I don’t remember seeing Angel drawing before; that was always a trademark of Angelus, his evil side. Is this meant to foreshadow some dire change? It would also seem to gel with the demon of lost things (can’t remember her name) who hinted Angel has so much more to lose…

The drawing stuff is definetly a bad sign. The only other time I remember him drawing was back in season two, when he was obsessed with Darla. As you’ll recall, that didn’t end well (“You’re all fired.”) I think it’s a sign that he’s depressed; he was very antsy about the possibility of Lorne giving him a reading in last night’s episode.

What’s there to be depressed about? His son tried to kill him but instead imprisoned him underseas for months without food or drink or companionship. His best friend betrayed him and there seems no hope of reconciliation… and is sleeping with his nemesis from Wolfram and Hart. The woman he loves has disappeared unaccountably, and no one has a clue where she is or what happened to her.

Why would he be depressed?

Good point, C K. I mean, compared to the rest of his life, he’s never had it so good.

Could someone toss me a spoiler or two? I missed the first half/two-thirds of the ep.

Thanks.

The crew needs to find out how to rescue Cordy, so they go to Las Vegas and rescue Lorne from his evil captors who are making him read people so they can suck their destinies out of them and sell them (the destinies, not the people) to the highest bidder. Madcap hijinx ensue. Fred looks surprisingly not bad at all in a moulin rouge outfit and green skin. The rescue is facilitated by Cordelia messing with Angel’s luck, for which I assumed the PTB put the smacketh down on her and sent her back sans memory. Angel doesn’t even get to keep the three hundred grand he won. Wah wah wahhhhhh…

Ok, there is spoilers for future episodes in the spoiler box. Read at your own risk. (And they’re big, and I don’t know if they are “common knowledge.”)

The drawing of Cordy very well coudl be foreshadowing, because from what I know, Angelus will be back this season. And Faith will be back mid-season (supposedly to help stop Angelus.) That’s the only reason I’m watching this year (two of my favorite characters! yay!)

What? I thought you had the hots for Wesley too…how fickle ye are, woman! :stuck_out_tongue:

Did any body notice that they drove straight through a red light when they got to Vegas and were looking around? They didn’t even slow down! Tsk! Tsk! Tsk! Those vampire drivers!

You get smacked down to amnesiac status for shifting one little wheel half a peg? Man, those PTBs really suck.

Myself, I think that the babe in the final scene isn’t Cordy, but just an avatar. Cordy is still up in the glowing joyness dimension, but she’s able to manifest something down on the material plane that seems to matter so much.

I, for one, wasn’t surprised. In fact, I don’t think I’ve seen anything in which she looks anything but adorable yet
