Ann Coulter sounds off on Lott

From Coulter’s message board:

Sound like anyone?

I must be missing the part about Lott and Thurmond acting on orders from Moscow.

The analogy between Thurmond/Lott and Henry Wallace/Ted Kennedy is very weak, though. For one thing, Wallace is not regarded as a Soviet agent, but is viewed in some quarters as a dupe. And Ted did not say that the country would have been better off with Wallace as President.

Trying to spin the Lott mess as something traceable to his Democratic past is also pitiful. It would be more logical (though somewhat unfair) to say that Lott got out of the Democratic Party because he thought he’d find a warmer reception for his bigoted views among Republicans.

And yes Ann, it is the Democratic Party. Deal with it.

quoth Ann

It’s right in the middle of the article.

Never mind, she was talking about Wallace.

Shoud have scanned that better. Now I feel silly.

'sokay, dude, otherwise I would have missed this. The very first line:

…Did he die?

Or have I been whooshed by Ann Coulter?

if the latter, please shoot me

I read that as a swipe on his age and condition, seeing as he was RIGHT THERE when it all started.

The country would’ve been better off with Wallace as president, but that’s a thread for another day.

The latter.

Bang!

He “supports” affirmative action? Fucking politicians.

“Third Party Candidates The Country Would Have Been Better Off Electing President” would be a pretty interesting GD thread.

I think Pres. Eugene Debs would’ve been a gas.

I’m not so sure about Norman Thomas, though.

Anne of Green Geobbels.

I’ll raise you one Godwin: Hitlery Clinton

[sub] I can be just as childish as any other poster.[/sub]

I know they were both jokes, but I don’t think you can compare Hillary Clinton and Ann Coulter. The reasons people dislike them are apples and oranges. People don’t like Coulter because she spews hate and half-truths. People don’t like Hillary Clinton because they disagree with her politics and probably more because she’s married to Bill.

HRC can spew out her own hate and half truths, it just happens to be directed at people you don’t like either, so you don’t take offense to it.

“Vast Right Wing Conspiracy” anyone? “Oh wait, he fucking did do it!”

… nah. Too easy.

You mean, besides Ann?

Yeah, especially those half-truths she laboriously footnotes.

Here’s a clue: stating fact and then your opinion about said fact is not stating half-truths.

Oooh, footnotes! It must be true!

Here’s another clue: sticking a misleading footnote on a statement of opinion doesn’t make it “fact.” Coulter’s penchant for poor documentation has been proven here and elsewhere.

Anyone who think Coulter isn’t lying because of the footnotes needs to actually look a footnote or two up.

Did she ever claim to be named after a famous explorer who happened to “explore” what made him famous after she was born?

I’m not sticking up for Ann, I don’t like her, but she’s not alone.
