Not up on current cigarette prices. How much would a 1 pack, 2 pack, 3 pack or 4 pack a day habit cost respectively, on an annual basis assuming we are talking about brand name (ie Kent, Camel, Marlboro, Salem etc) cigarettes?
£4.50 for 20 cigarettes where I live. 1 pack a day for 365 days = £1,642.50 per year. Perhaps that’s why smubbled cigarettes and tobacco are so popular in the UK?
er… SMUGGLED!!!
You can get a carton of Marlboros for about $40/carton. That would be $1,460 per year.
Marlboros at my local mom&pop store round the corner are $3.80.
1 pack a day habit = $1387 per year.
Prices vary pretty widely, even within the U.S. I’ve heard scary tales of $7 packs of cigarettes in NYC, but here, at the local Tobacco Plus, I can get a pack of Camels for $2.76, a carton for $26.99. That store charges a little more for the Marlboros, though. I think it’s $2.99/pk, $29.99/ctn.
Even better prices are possible when the companies run “buy two, get one free,” or even better, “buy one, get one free” deals, which they do fairly often.
I can get a carton of Camels for $22.50, about $24 with tax. I love Kentucky.
That’s $876/year for a pack a day.
If I didn’t have champagne tastes, I could get away with spending 11 bucks on a carton of GTs. That’s only $401.50 per year.
