There is a certain recipe that I have in mind. I have actually used it, with good results. But then I lost it. :smack:
The recipe I have in mind will have the following ingredients:
1 (or two) cup peanut butter
2 cups of miniature marshmallows
1 can of condensed milk
1 stick of butter (or margarine)
vanilla extract
It most definitely did NOT contain any of the following:
Chocolate
Marshmallow creme
Corn syrup
A candy thermometer
a requirement that I know how to recognize a “soft-ball” stage
My recollection is that I cooked it all up on the stove top until it was mixed together, and the marshmallows were melted, then poured it into a pan to set. kaylasmom, OTOH, was certain that there was microwaving involved.
Anyway, if any Dopers can come up with the recipe, you will have my undying gratitude.
My bad for poor proofreading. And now I can’t request an edit on the spelling, because it would make your post look surreal, and I don’t think that would be neighborly.
I haven’t ever made any, but Alton Brown made it on Good Eats tonight. It used the microwave, avoiding candy thermometers and the soft ball stage. The recipe is on the food network web site, along with several others.
