I’m not pitting Anonymous here. Not really. They do some stupid shit, but in this case I say it’s a tiny, tiny shred of justice long overdue.
I’d prefer the soldiers responsible for Haditha would be thrown in a dark, deep hole for the rest fo their miserable existence, but apparently our government is so incompetent and corrupt that their version of justice for what is mass murder and a war crime is to drop all charges against 7 out fo the 8 and give the last sack of shit, the leader of these wastes of human skin, a PAY CUT.
The defacing and leaks of the private details of the defense team for these so called “soldiers” won’t really accomplish anything. It metes out no real justice.
But it’s at least something that brigns back the case to the forefront fo the news. more people should be made aware at the joke that is our military law system.
So good on you Anonymous… this time at least. And Fuck you Frank Wuterich, you slimy, murdering, sack of crap.
Just so I understand, you think it’s a good thing that defense lawyers confidential information is hacked? Or do you get to pick which cases? I’m sure the prosecution would love to see that information too. There is a reason why it is this way. To force the prosecution to make its case.
Be they agents of chaos or justice, I have to admit that I love Anon and cheer them on because they make me feel like I actually live in the William Gibson techno thriller future I always wanted to.
I don’t know the details, but I’m guessing it was a lot easier than that: conference calls are usually set up where participants all call a number and enter an access code. There’s no security beyond that. So all Anon would have had to do was intercept the email telling people the contact info for the call. Not nothing, of course, but not Mission Impossible infiltration, either.
One should not forget that the 9/11 attacks worked because, after forty years of airplane hijacks, the cockpit doors weren’t locked. Also, the Man works eight hours a day and goes home, the Underground is 24/7/365.
That said, I am sane, therefore horrified at Haditha. But not surprised, we already know this, we know that if we send sane and decent young men to war, they will not return the same people who left. How do I condemn a man who goes mad after living in madness, horror and fear for months on end? Justice is sanity and reason, there is none once the drums start to beat.
No purpose can be served by punishing these men, certainly we cannot or will not punish them to the extent that would satisfy, if for no other reason than we cannot try them according to our own principles, We know what happened, but we cannot prove who fired which bullet, there is no CSI on the battlefield.
We can only resolve, once again, to be certain that we take up arms when there is absolutely no other choice. I am tired of protesting against stupid and vicious wars, once was too many. I am too old for this shit, I was too old at twenty.
The fuck? Elucidator’s post is absolutely fodder enough for a thousand pittings.
Seriously you fuck. We shouldn’t punish them?!
And then to draw a parallel between them and the thousands of brave men and women who serve our armies and you know, DON’T murder innocent men woman and children?
You are beyond the help of this board. Ignorance IS you.
And would you be this blase if twenty four American civilians, unarmed men, women and children, had been murdered in cold blood? Oh, well, it kinda sucks but war gets like that, whaddaya gonna do?
Then you judge them. I can’t, and I won’t pretend I can. Nor will I pretend that justice has been done, because justice is impossible. If one of them says “Yes, I was there, but I didn’t shoot”, how are you to prove otherwise? You got ballistics? Fingerprints? Who’s testimony can you rely upon?
Will you condemn them all, then? Let God sort them out? Then I would remind you they were there under our flag, our uniform, we paid for the bullets. Who do you suggest to judge us?
No good can come of this, unless we resolve to do our level best that it never happen again. That’s not enough, its not nearly enough. Its all we’re going to get.
You want to hang somebody, hang Bush, Cheney, and Wolfowitz. And that will not be justice, because you can only hang them once.
