Another 70s question for teens/youths of the era (hair)

Was the The Rolling Stones’ style page cut huge for young rockers in the early-mid 70s?

As exemplified by these photos:

I had a slightly shorter version of that when I was 13 (1975), but I eventually let my bangs grow out and parted them in the middle. For the rest of the Seventies I had a Tom Petty do.

Look normal to me. Not ‘rockers’ just normal, so I guess some rockers would have had hair like that too.

We didn’t all have hair like that: normal variation, a few much longer, many rather shorter.

In the UK you’d tend to find this was much more of a thing for trendies in high profile positions such as soccer, or music or the arts.

Most of us went around with our hair about half the length - maybe covering the ears but not down to the collar.

I graduated in '72. Looking back in my yearbook, most of the boys had cuts closer to the early Beatles’ style, tho there were a few who had hair to the shoulders. Most of the girls seemed to be sporting 60s cuts - some bouffant, some straight with center part and pretty much anything in between.

I had Luke Skywalker A New Hope hair

Many girls had Breck commercials hair, guys had a mop.

If you were a guy who grew out his hair, and your hair happened to be wavy and thick, this is just how it would end up looking, with no special effort. I don’t remember it being very common, though. Most kept it a bit shorter.

Haha! I love that description!
