yer right it is a bit mixed and i tend to combine when I should separate things. First in porn valley you have a large number of performers working together on a daily basis, everyone works with each other and if everyone works every other day its easy to see how a highly contagious STD can completely flood the talent pool relatively quickly. And you are correct that there is no routine test en can do for HPV.
On the other side of the country you have me…I have a very small talent pool that ONLY works for me…I shoot every couple of weeks on average but more importantly I thouroughly screen the people I shoot maleand female, I do require a routine battery of tests that test for the same things plus HDV-2 (Herpes) but not nearly as frequently
My guys in particular are well known to me and have to jump through a lot of hoops to get invited to a shoot, that overall track record of negative tests over a number of years is a lot more important to me than a single test. Is my method fool proof…of course not but I do what I can to reasonable minimize any possible exposure including making condoms available which Porn valley doesnt do. in the case of gangbangs and specially anal I strongly encourage the use of condoms.

I have and I have. I have worked on many mainstream projects including one that won an academy award and one that won an Emmy. I have also done music videos and Tv commercials and worked as an actor. Am I good enough to helm something along the lines of The Godfather…no I dont think so but then given the right budget I dont think theres anything I couldnt do by hiring the right people to bring my vision to life.

I’m sure it varies, but generally how much do the directors, well, direct the action? Are they giving a lot of instructions while the cast is doing their thing? “OK, now you turn over, and you move six inches to the left!” Or do they just kind of give the performers some general guidelines before shooting starts and then let them have at it?
Are there a lot of retakes and cut material? For, say, a twenty minute scene, how much actual film gets shot?
That depends a LOT on what we are shooting…if theres a script and a particular look or feel that a scene or a movie should have a director pays a LOT of attention because it is our job to get it right.
OTOH When I shoot amateurs I usually shoot an amateur girl with a guy that has some experience, he will know how to keep the shot open and pace the scene, in that case I dont direct much and the cameramans job is to get the shot without interuppting the action because i want her to forget that the camera is there and get off on the sex. That wont happen if I am constantly barking orders
typically i get an hours worth of footage for a 15 min scene.

He starts up his own production company deciding he’s going to star in every shoot. He is so wealthy that he can operate at a loss, this production company never has to be financially successful. He loves having a variety of sex partners and now that he’s wealthy he’s going to start living the dream.
Maybe much of the time he wants to make the kind of porn where the guy is holding the camera and he expects to have his chosen co-stars show up and they’ll be alone together. Or maybe he’s got a crew and he just doesn’t mind having sex in front of them- or maybe having sex in front of the crew is an added turn on. Again, his production company doesn’t have to be financially successful, so at the end of a day it may be decided that none of the footage is useable (he’s blocking the best angles, or in the handheld scenes he just decides to put the camera down and forget about it). He can also afford to pay his co-stars more than they are accustomed to, so as to smooth over the lack of professionalism on his part. Maybe he’ll even want to book paid “rehearsals” then never bother with actually shooting.
Why is he doing this instead of hiring prostitutes?
In his porn king fantasy, he believes that when he sees a porn actress that he really wants to have sex with all he has to do is find her booking info and book her for a shoot and he’s got exactly who he was fantasizing about. He imagines himself putting together very elaborate fantasies that are specific to the ages of the women, their features, the sex acts he wants, the number of partners he wants at once then putting out a synopsis for casting and being able to book women to be the exact fantasy he wanted. He imagines himself scrolling through photos of porn actresses to see who strikes his fancy on any given day then booking her for a shoot.
In his fantasy, his porn king status grows a reputation for himself that he believes will have the regular round of professionals as well as aspiring up and comers hoping for the chance to work with him because it’s an easy shoot (he doesn’t care if he gets good footage) and he overpays.
If the guy’s rich enough, doesn’t care about social stigma, and can afford to lose money, is he going to get to joyously live out his fantasy?
Or will he soon enough come up against a harsh reality check?

Half serious gripe about porn here. What is the deal with leather couches? Do you think mainstream will ever go porn? What I mean by that is that there is really no reason why porn shouldn’t have popular music in it rather than bow-chicka-wow-wow.
