I can’t seem to find “bites the dust” in the Urban Dictionary. Is it a variation on the Cleveland Steamer?
Its the appropriate comment, say, when the Indian/Cowboy’s horse collapses on its front legs and the Cowboy/Indian gets pitched forward, face first, into the dirt. A similar instance is when the Cowboy/Indian gets shot down from the horse, but with a foot caught in the stirrup while the horse gallops along, pulling the Cowboy/Indian along over the sand, the rocks and the cactus. To wit: “What a drag!”
Is this what politics has come to these days? The gentleman is forced to resign just for attempting to Wu a teenager?
I’ve heard about him several times, on (I think) Olbermann when he was still on MSNBC. The basic opinion was Wu was ill and probably ought to resign to concentrate on getting well.
He’s gotten plenty of press in Oregon, mostly negative. He’s an embarassment and a fairly ineffective politician, and both have been true for years. Glad to see him gone. I hope we can nominate someone better to replace him. Suzanne Bonamici would be a good choice.
His senior staff admits that they covered for him for years and regret doing so. For all of his self-inflicted gunshot wounds, the man is a true immigrant success story. He came here from China at age six, graduated medical school at Stanford, then Yale Law, then gets himself elected to congress. Pretty amazing CV. Hopefully in his next career he’ll be able to keep it in his pants.
There was also an attempted rape charge from when he was an undergrad at Stanford - girl didn’t want to press charges.
