What is it with politicians and their dicks? Do they really think they’re untouchable, or that nobody will notice that they’re being naughty? And why is this guy getting a pass from the press? David Wu (D-OR) has a history of mental problems and substance abuse that he’s managed to talk his way out of. Not too long ago, his staff quit because of his aberrant behavior. Now he’s been accused of unwanted sexual advances toward a young woman of 18 or so. Yeah, a young woman would welcome the advances of a 56 year old creep. :rolleyes:

Pelosi has called for an ethics investigation, but of course Wu - or should we call him Woo-Woo - has refused calls to resign (following a proud tradition of assholery), saying he just won’t run next time around. Not good enough, asshole. Do the right thing and resign the job before you embarrass your party further.
Basically, his crime is that he’s a huge embarrassment and the Democratic leadership wants him gone (probably with good reason.) The allegation (and that’s all it is) of sexual advances gives them an excuse to turn up the pressure.
But seriously, folks… he was elected, and has a right to finish his term. If the reason to force him out is nothing more than vague “sexual misconduct” allegations, then too bad for the leadership.
There seems to be more than sexual misconduct here: from what I’ve read, he seems to be mentally unbalanced. Yes, he has the right to see out his term in office, but when your party leader publicly suggests that you resign for the good of your party, then perhaps you should do the right thing.
Did you actually read the article? The woman graduated high school last year and is the daughter of a close friend in California. Hardly the picture of a predatory female.
Then there was that whole episode of making bizarre public comments and emailing photos of himself in a cat costume that caused his staff to resign. They guy has been under psychiatric care for several problems, apparently.
At least it wasn’t picture of his dick, which is some small consolation. He nearly lost the seat the last time around, and I doubt that he’ll get any local support or party funding if he tries to run again.
Let’s not forget about the suspicious car accident where he drove down the wrong side of the road and rammed into a parked car, then said he “fell asleep” even though he smelled like booze. Better just read about it, I’m not doing it justice. The map makes it clear that he would have had to fall asleep in about five seconds after making a couple of tight turns.
