I keep coming across interesting but largely unavailable or unpractical guns on the net, but this little package is really blowing me away.
There are so many pratical uses for a small folding weapon like this one that these guys could make a nice chunk of change if they started mass producing them, or at least selling conversion kits for popular handgun makes. I could easily see Kahr or Kel-Tec picking up on something like this, unless this would be deemed to “dangerous” for we regular knuckle draggers to own. Still, hats off to an excellent piece of engineering.
Nah, sorry. (Too many hinges) + (moving parts) = (something to jam up) + (go wrong). Nice to look at, nice concept, but I’ll happily keep the pistol my wife bought me on my hip.
Wait Tripler, let’s not be hasty here. It doesn’t have to be an either/or thing does it? Why not have both? (I’ll tell you why - it’s based on a Glock, but I’m a stubborn old coot)
I got this for x-mas. Mk IV Series 80 .380. I carry this and shoot this, so what do I need with a little .380? Obviously, the answer is “it’s cool” Just like a tiny little 1911 that fits in my pocket.
I suspect they’re asking a bit more for the Tranform-a-Glock, tho.
Looked to me like he almost lost a couple fingers folding it back up. But hey, it is a prototype.
But why all that? Like someone said, a 1911 in your pocket would be more effective. I carried my little Beretta .32 hider once. Kept reaching back and feeling it. Real subtle.
Cool looking gun, though. They should make in a CO2 pellet model. No “airsoft”.
Peace,
mangeorge
As I always do in these threads, I present the Serbu Super Shorty. Here it is in action.
If the missus ever lets me (which seems more and more doubtful), my next purchase is going to be a Ruger Charger.
A nice bullpup would be good, too. Here’s the FN PS90, and its partner in 5.7x28 ammunition, the FN Five-seveN. I’ll take one of each, thanks.
And last, who could ever forget the 600 Nitro Express revolver I posted about in another thread a week or two ago? I want to fire that gun one time. That would probably be quite enough for me.
I held a S&W .50 (500) short barrel at my local gunsmith. I realize the disadvantages, but it felt cool. His friend, who owns one of each said one of the disadvantages is that you really don’t want to discharge it indoors.
I’ve been trying (not to hard) to find an outdoor range that will rent me one.
Silly man : ka-pow
It’s not worth starting a new thread, so if no one minds a minor hijack -
I’m looking for a .22 rifle for my oldest son’s 12th birthday. He’s been shooting a Ruger 10/22 for several years, I cut the stock down to fit the shorter arms, and since he has a younger brother I don’t want to put the full size stock back on for a couple more years.
To the point - Any recommendations for an affordable rifle that will serve him for years to come but isn’t a $600 Remington?
I s’pose I could just pick up another 10/22, but where’s the fun in that?
My head hurts watching that. If you handle guns the way this guy handles his, please, sell them to me. I’ll find a way to take them off your hands. He swept the cameraman numerous times, and while showing his shiny new toy he had his damn finger on the trigger.
That’s too much gun and far more responsibility than that guy is equipped to handle. Oh, and the cylinder flip at the end? How cool.
How many shooters are there in various regions? I’m thinking there should be some DopeBlasts where shooting Dopers in each region bring out their toys. It would be fun to shoot each other’s guns, and it would give non-shooting dopers a chance to give it a try. ISTR the late Padeye set one up once.
