Another CSI BS Question

They take in a free diver and do the usual autopsy. They say “There is no extra nitrogen in his blood.” Uh…after this body has been laying for hours and hours on the table? I was not aware of a test that determines the nitrogen saturation of your blood, and after years of Scuba diving, I was taught that upon returning to normal pressure, the nitrogen out-gasses. Furthermore, the murder victim was a free diver, not a Scuba diver. In 5-7 minutes, how the fuck is he gonna get any significant nitrogen saturated in his blood anyway?

I think it has something to do with UV flashlights.

And who music.

And sunglasses. Don’t forget the sunglasses.

This is the same show which, during a single episode, stated that 9.8 meters per second squared is “terminal velocity” (it isn’t) and that a GFCI device required a ground connection to function properly (it doesn’t). I wouldn’t put much stock in any of their “science.” They seem to get stuff right more from luck than actual research.

In CSI, it’s call a DNA test.

Duh, Diver Nitrogen Assessment, comon…anyone with a degree in bottle rocketry knows that.

Jeez…all these smart people and nobody knows about Diver Nitrogen Assessment

Taking longer than we thought indeed.
