Another enema perhaps?

LOL…just kidding! No more links…I promised Jill and the nice staffers here at the Straight Dope! I had gotten alot of messages in email that people had responded to my last message, unfortunately, by the time I came back they were deleted. So…I don’t know if they were bad or good…guess what I don’t know won’t hurt me?!

Without further blathering…how about Bush for “Public Enema” of the day:

They tell me if you really want to see the link to my board…you can get it by clicking on my profile…hint, hint. Take good care…Chava

Go memorize it.

I already have a good site that I go to…but thanks all the same. Not sure I understand tho…Chava

The forward you just posted is fake.

http://www.snopes.com/inboxer/hoaxes/presiq.htm

Disliking the man is one thing, but disliking him because of stupid forwards and lies is ridiculous.

Oh, give me a break…it isn’t meant to be serious…it’s called a joke…tongue in cheek…whatever. I thought it was obvious enough and needed no disclaimer. Have a great night…Chava

Because all of these statements obviously illustrate biting satire that Joe Inbox will recognize as a jolly lark?

I thought it was funny…sue me, lol. Night…Chava

Here at the SDMB, we like to promote the message of anti-ignorance. A joke is all well and good–but remember that in the future, mm?

I’m actually surprised to see you back at the boards–after the “Public Enema” gimmick you posted last time, I expected you would just move along.

So…let me be one of the first to welcome you to the SDMB! Have a look around the boards, browse the threads, and post if you have something you’d like to add.

Hi Ashley…I don’t know about most here…but I am 46 years old…have 3 boards of my own and am not used to being scolded on how to post, lol…I feel like my 6 year old! I posted the joke because I thought it was funny…there were no motives, just a joke. After looking around…your “anti-ignorance” message seems to be ignored by most. Posts about sex, smoking dope, urinating…but I’M promoting ignorance with a simple joke?

don’t get me wrong…I appreciate the welcome…could have just done without the little comments. As far as my last post…it was not a “gimmick”. I allow other people to post their links on my board and have never had a problem, in the whole time since I’ve had boards, leaving my link on like boards. I also left the link up on my board to this one…and would have posted it anyway as that is what I usually do. I had some real nice correspondence from the staff here and worked it out…thought I’d drop by and post since I had so much traffic on my board from this site…I was truly surprised…pleasantly so. However…if this is going to be a big deal…or people have some sort of hard on because of it…then I’ll leave. It was not my intent to come here to argue…and guess I’m a bit surprised that no sooner did I post that my 2 responses were just that.

I hope you have a good night…take care…Chava

Ahh–it was not the joke itself, my fine friend, it was the fact that you presented it as factual. Whether you knew it was a joke or not, rumors fly abound so much on the internet that one can never be too careful.

As for your comment on the other threads–well–yea! Just because we promote Cecil’s Plan of no ignorance doesn’t mean that we’re devoid of character or personality! The whole of MPSIMS is practically devoted to the pursuit of it.

It’s just that as a whole, and I realize I speak for everyone when I say this–but I feel comfortable in my judgment…

As a whole–we do not put stock in urban legends.

Seeya 'round.

Gosh, Ash…I don’t really know anyone that does, yanno? We’re not talking about kidneys being taken out in the middle of the night while we sleep…or syringes in McDonalds ball playpen…or even rat urine in coke, …we’re talking about Bush here, lol…one of the biggest jokes around, har! Mattafact…even discussing the ignorance of this whole thing is a joke. Have a good one…Chava

Hi, Anthracite…not allowed to post links…that’s how I got in trouble in the first place, lol. However…I’m told you are allowed to look in my profile. Take good care…Chava

Moderator’s Notes: Great. More ridiculous glurge. Try this thread for a semi-rational discussion of that particular piece (in addition to one of Cecil’s columns). Your original post is there in a readable format without all the “less-than” signs.
