The question about the Wyeth painting got me thinking:
The painting of the guy in the bowler hat with the green apple over his face: What’s it called, who did it, and what damn movie was that in???
Anyone?
I think it is a work by Paul Klee and the image called to mind is from the poster for Being There. Title I can’t help you with.
The movie is the remake of The Thomas Crown Affair. And I think the artist is Matisse, but don’t bet the farm on my say so.
Rene Magritte.
And look here.
I humbly stand corrected.
The painting doesn’t appear to have one “official” name. I found it listed as both “L’Homme” (The Man) and “The Son of Man.”
