Actually, Profumo died of a stroke in 2006. You might be thinking of Stephen Ward, the osteopath who introduced Profumo to Christine Keeler, who committed suicide by OD before a jury convicted him of ‘living on the immoral earnings’ of Keeler. Since Profumo did resign as Secretary of War and never returned to politics, he does qualify as a politician brought down by a sex scandal, tho.
