I just finished reading Please Kill Me: An Oral History of Punk by Legs McNeil and Gillian Somthing or other. Great book, and based on it, it is not particularly surprising that Dee Dee finally found a way out. It sounds like he lived quite a life (hustling on the streets, lots of fights, a diverse array of drugs - any of which should’ve fried his brain).
But the music was great.
I guess he finally got sedated.
The few, the proud…and unfortunately fewer now.
Johnny, take care of yourself.
And how is it we’re still stuck with Keith Moon, but Dee Dee can OD?
