ANOTHER rig blew up in the Gulf of Mexico.

Joy. 12 workers missing, the Coasties are looking for 'em.

Here’s to hoping they can shut it off.

A friend put this on his facebook – I was about to make a snarky comment about being a little behind the times with his updates, but took a look at CNN just to be sure. Guess not.

Sounds like it’s a production platform as opposed to a drilling rig and while there is a fire, it was not producing at the time of the accident. Further reassuring, it’s in relatively shallow water. Hopefully, with the 13 men rescued this will play out to be a minor incident.

It’s that dastardly Sierra Club, and it’s cadre of violent environmentalist terrorists!

You laugh, but I’ve already seen the righties making the claim that it’s the result of some leftist plot.

Obama: “Ok asdaqa’i, we only need to get one or two more before we can advance my plan for widespread micro nuke plants. But that deep sea rig was too messy, get something a little more environmentally friendly.”
Ahmed: “Yes, sihib. We’ll hit a production platform or two before Ramadan”
Obama: “Eeexxcellent!”

You forgot to mention the part where they bumped fists.

All 13 have been found, alive. It’s in shallow (relatively) water, so if there is a leak, it won’t take so long to fix, they say.

It occurs to me that if another well, not belonging to BP, were to pop and spill an appreciable amount of oil, that it would be difficult to say how much of the gulf cleanup & damage was due to which company. Keep in mind, nobody can seem to agree on just how much BP spooje is already in the water. If we get an oil bukkake going, then the cleanup costs get spread around to everyone who’s drilling and spilling.

BP’s up to something. And it involves bukkake.
