#thoughtsandprayers
“Nothing can be done” says the only country where this regularly happens.
Seems like we ought to be able to negotiate a better deal on the price of freedom.
Any deal would be a better one, if the people who are all so insistent on gun rights were the ones who paid for their ‘freedoms,’ rather than offloading the cost onto random members of the public.
A guy with a rifle, an American flag, and a MAGA hat showed up at Santa Fe High School to “show his support”
Correction: It was a pistol.
Reading your linked article, I note that it seems to have been a handgun, not a rifle.
The only conclusion to be drawn is that, whatever position you advance on the issue, the exact opposite is the only one that is objectively factual. :dubious:
The Lord responds to calls for “thoughts and prayers”:
Sometimes at sports games, people hold up bible verses that have some sort of relevance.
I do wonder if Isiah 1:15 needs to start making the rounds.
I’d do it myself if I showed up at sports events.
Yeah, I corrected that, but too late to edit my initial report.
Parkland student: “DO SOMETHING.”
Hang in there; this was never gonna happen quickly (unfortunately).
All these school shootings, church shootings, shootings outside stores…committed usually by white Christians, and the rightists quake in fear of Muslims and non-white immigrants. Yeah, nothing’s going to get fixed until there’s a major societal attitude change.
Twenty years of thoughts and prayers should tell you that some people view their safety blankets as more important than innocent lives.
A school shooting leaves 10 people dead, and today it was not even a lead story. It was just another school shooting.
AOL reported that the Santa Fe shooter was bullied {Cite} … even by the adult staff …
I know, I know, I know … much easier condemning guns and let the brutal teasing continue … Kip Kinkel is appealing his de facto life sentence BTW …
I’m not trying to excuse the shooter’s actions … he should serve the appropriate time in prison … but let’s not let the intimidators off the hook … if the AOL story is true, then I think all involved should face charges, especially the adults who participated in the teasing … our children should be safe at school from guns, knives AND bullying from the coaches …
AFAIK … In Oregon the parents can be held criminally responsible in such a case for not having their guns locked up …
Well, to be fair, there was a royal wedding going on, dontcha know.
This is one of the many problems I have with school sports (including “cheer”) as they’re currently constituted. Any other school club is run like a school club and has a faculty adviser who not only helps teach the students whatever the focus of the club is, but also helps the students learn what school sports teams purportedly exist to teach. But that’s not the reality of today’s school sports at any level. The focus is on fame for the school, more money for the sports program, and of course a coach who is mostly concerned with his win-loss record so he won’t be out of a job. Put all of that together and of course the coaches will bully someone. Let the damn pro leagues run their own training and recruiting leagues and let the school teams go back to being school clubs.
All these street shootings and crimes…committed usually by Black Christians, and the leftists quake in fear of White Christians and following the rule of law. Yeah, nothing is going to get fixed until there’s a major societal attitude change.
Do you feel that? That is what it sounds like on the other side of the coin, Monty. Double Standards, hypocrisy etc…
Tired of this double standard bullshit.
Anyone who kills another if not out of self defense, is a scumbag, regardless of what their fucking ethnic or religious background is.
Or the easiest solution, don’t let your kid get involved in the sports in the first place. Accountability.
