Another thread about the "polls" option being available.

Okay, in this thread [Poll: Have you ever licked a salt lick?] it seems that it would be stupidly silly not to be able to have the option of actually creating a poll. There are usually always numerous other threads in IMHO and the Cafe which this option would be really cool. And it makes it easier to recognize the majority answer in a short and sweet fashion.

The previous thread about this was back in July. In which the question was asked and answered by Tuba:

Polls take moderator oversight to set up and run. We have felt it was best to focus on writing and reading of postings above all else.

Well I guess the second part of her answer was the finalish part. But the first part of her response was quickly questioned…

Really? I thought that if you turned on the vB option to allow polls, the thread starter set it up themselves, just like any other OP. What would the mods have to do to set them up? How would overseeing a poll thread be particularly different than moderating a regular thread?

It seems a no brainer to me to allow polls in the IMHO forum, being “the place for polling” and all.

… and never replied to.

I guess I am not going to be changing anything. Just consider this another vote for the “polls would be cool” crowd.

This thread needs a poll so that we can quickly and easily see what the majority view among posters is. Er, wait…

I don’t hang out in IMHO very much, but I think that the poll option would be good. Think of it this way: Instead of reading this whole asinine post, my contribution would simply be a number; or rather an increase in one number. So I’m voting for the poll option. Is this thread a poll?
