Another 'what song is this I'm half remembering?' thread

I’m watching a documentary on the Space Shuttle and, as my old brain likes to do, am reminded of a song from my youth. I believe it was from a PBS children’s program and the only part I remember is . . . “a big, blue marble in spaaaaaaaaaace!”

I went to YouTube to find Big Blue Marble but that show has a really lame theme song about togetherness. Maybe it was from 3 2 1 Contact? But no. That song was how I remembered it-- really cool '70s upbeat (Contact is the moment, is the second when everything happens. . .) Where? Where??? is this line coming from? Maybe not from PBS? Maybe not a children’s space program? Anyone remember?

Maybe the theme to The Great Space Coaster?

Nope, not Great Space Coaster. I don’t think I watched that, which is weird as it looks just like the trippy crap I loved as a kid.

How about this one?

Yes! That’s it. So, that’s a Sesame Street Earth Day song?

No, it’s the theme song to the TV show Big Blue Marble. It aired on PBS for like 10 years from the early '70s to the early '80s. I remember watching it when I was a kid in the early '70s.

Here’s the opening sequence (with the theme song, natch).

Ah, when I YouTubed Big Blue Marble theme I got this piece of crap. Not the big blue marble in spaaaaaaaaace I was looking for.
