Every Aquapet has two buttons. One is food. The other is petting. In response to various button combinations the Aquapet bobs up and down, dances, eats, and makes contented noises. A microphone lets various Aquapets interact. I suppose they’re basically marionette Tamigachis.

Blast! I can’t find Spongebob’s batteries or get the virtual Aquapet to work! By the way, creating a virtual Aquapet leads you to a page with a flow chart of the Aquapet’s responses.

At first, it works great and does everything that’s promised - and more. Unfortunately, we’re finding that after about 10 minutes of heavy playtime, it loses it’s rigidity! The shaft-like structure just falls over and simply will not respond for 24 hours. A big let down.

Man what a wonderful toy this is. I saw it at toys r us and I knew I just had to buy it for my 7 year old daughter. Upon receiving it she hasn’t been able to put it down. Every day she tells me, “Thank you daddy.” Let’s just say that it gives her hours upon hours of enjoyment. As a matter of fact I find myself having a good time with it as well. I recommend though you buy rechargeable batteries for I notice it requires changing quite frequently. That could just be because my daughter plays with it every night before she goes to bed. Anyway go out a buy this toy now! You won’t regret it. I sure haven’t.

I gave this to my wife to keep her company while I am away on business trips and unfortunately it has resulted in a lot of chafing. I really wish the designers would have done some anatomical research as we are apparently unable to return this product after it has been used.

Hmmm… I think the design department is getting somewhere with this one. I guess the batteries are for a “vibrate” feature. Maybe this’ll be the next Harry Potter Broomstick this holiday season.
