Another Whatever Happened to... Question

This question concerns a boy who was profiled on a show called That’s Incredible back in the late 70’s/early 80’s. I don’t remember his name, but I can say confidently that this person would be between 30-35 today.

The boy was a multi-millionaire, and he wasn’t rich because his daddy had loads of cash. He was rich because he’d earned the moolah himself, through shrewd investments and whatnot. The boy had all the trappings of wealth: limos, fancy suits, yada yada yada. I also remember he was rather arrogant about how loaded he was.

Anybody remember this boy’s name and what he’s up to nowadays. And no, I’m pretty sure his name wasn’t Bill Gates :wink: . Besides, Gates would be considerably older than this kid.

Oh, you mean David Alexander Cortese, the richest kid in the world. Well, today he’s still rich, but not as much as in the time of the show. Bad investments and stuff took away two thirds of his moolah, but he’s still doing fine.

Oh, I remember him too. Didn’t he start out by breeding gerbils or something and worked his way up from there. I remember that he couldn’t say gerbils correctly because he was so young, he still had a childhood speach impediment.
