One was born on February 28, just before midnight, the other was born March 1. On leap years there’s an extra day between those dates.
One likes to celebrate on the date of her birrthday, the other waited until the weekend, when more people could come to the party. No law says you have to celebrate on the exact date.
Or they might even have been born two days apart (not usually a good plan if the twins are carried to term, but more successful with premature delivery).
