If one twin was born close to midnight, and the other just after midnight, they’d actually have different birthdays. If it happened on Feb. 29, Leap Year Day, one would have four times as many “birthdays” during his or her life! What’s the longest period of time to pass between the live birth of two or three children at the end of the same period of labor?
I have heard of it being a couple days actually let me find my book of world records. And no if you are born on the 29th you dont have 4 times less birthdays. Just celebrate it on the 28th or 1st. The earth is still orbiting around the sun and years still pass.
There have been cases of days, weeks, and even months between the delivery of each child of a set of twins (or other multiples). I’m not sure how to find a cite for that, though.
Just a few years ago, there was a chance for twins to be born in different centuries. Milennia, even. Did this actually happen to anybody?
I haven’t been able to find anything about twins born far apart, but there was this from last year:
What if it happened either side of midnight while crossing the International Date Line on New Year’s Eve.
Here’s the story of twin boys who will have their birthdays 2 months apart! It’s a video, FYI.
the guidance we got for the twins is that 30 minutes between the birth of twin a and twin b is the ‘acceptably safe’ window. my twin b was about 45 minutes afte twin a, and she suffered hypoxic damage that affects her 3 years later.
Doesn’t the UK have a law to deal with that situtation when it effects peerages?
My 93 year old identical twin grandmothers (well, one of them is really a great aunt but they come as a set!) were born either side of midnight but they were born at home so the family doctor adjusted the birth time of one of them so that they could have the same birthday. After a few years it was forgotten which one of them got adjusted, so who knows when they were really born or how far apart?! 93 years later it makes little difference. (Can see how it might mess up an inheritance though…)
I remember hearing about twins like that.

The site does not, however, mention anything else about the mysterious Keys family.
