ANTHRAX - Among the Living

Can’t help but feel a little overconfident with Anthrax all over the news. Hell, I’m not worried about no Anthrax ! I’ve been bombarded with Anthrax for 15 years and I’m still rockin’ out !

So this is a thread about all things Anthrax. Not expecting many replies but what the hell.

I’ve seen Anthrax plenty of times. With Iron Maiden in 1991 and again on Clash of the Titans. I saw them play at the Palace, Pine Knob, Harpos, Orbit Room, St Andrews Hall and Maritime Hall.

My favorite album is, of course, Among the Living but I do like Spreading the Disease a lot as well. As for the John Bush era, well I wasn’t too happy when they kicked out Joey but the later albums are pretty good in their own right.

It’s nice to see Scott hosting VH1 Rockshow and he has been in the news lately - http://entertainment.msn.com/news/rollingstone/101301_anthrax.asp

Anyway, lets hear from you other folks who are Among the Living !

*Disease! Disease! Spreading the disease !

Man, fights Man! Divided they can’t stand !
United, they can battle back, and make him force his hand!
Fear, yes fear! His end is growing near,
He didn’t count on Man’s good faith, and their will to persevere.*

Well I haven’t seen Anthrax live just yet but I’m hoping to with Priest in Feb. Personally I like the Bush era stuff, my fav is Sound of White Noise of which I was listening to just yesterday.

Over on HardRadio.com there was some talk that they wanted to change the name because of the stuff happening. I think they got a few hundred thousand extra hits on their site. I think they’re new name they liked was Basket of Puppies.

I’ve only heard Among the Living, but I definitely like what I hear. I might have to check out other albums that people recommend.

Definitely check out Persistance of Time–probably one of my favorites. Attack of the Killer B’s was okay, too. After Bush took over, I lost interest.

I thought that they grew a lot once Scott Ian shaved his head. Heck, they performed with PE once he did. The hair’s the key. Always wanted to grow a long King Tut beard like Scott’s, just out of my chin.

I really dug their cover of Joe Jackson’s “Got the Time.”
