Antiperspirant suggestions for toilet

Our toilet tank is sweating - I remember it did this last spring too, but I can’t remember if/how we fixed it.

It sweats so much that water is dripping onto the floor.

Ideas / suggestions?

Thanks.

Sorry, maybe it’s my browser but that page was blank. Plus I’m in Canada, so I’m not sure a UK DIY product would help.

Any other ideas that don’t involve a purchase?

Dehumidifier. That, or maybe put a large, shallow pan of baking soda in the bathroom/loo/water closet.

Check w/ your local plumbing supply outlet. There is a device that diverts a small amount of hot water to the tank, raising the temp., and thereby eliminating “tank sweat”. It’s relatively easy to install and an inexpensive solution.

Right.

The problem is that the coolness of the water in the tank is cooling the outside surface of the tank, which then condenses some of the water vapor in the air near the outer surface of the tank.

Solution I: Reduce the humidity of the air in the bathroom.
Solution II: Increase the temperature of the tank.

Solution III: Insulate the tank. These types of things look like a pain to install…ie. trying to install the panels in a tight space, and having your toilet out of commision for the day.

The tempering valve would be a huge headache for our bathroom, since the hot water pipe is nowhere near the toilet. We’d have to get a new line run.

Another way to do cantara’s insulation is to get one of those fuzzy tank covers, like your mom used to have. You can probably prowl the JCPenney catalog to find one (with cute rugs to match.) Don’t use the matching seat lid cover, though. They cause the lid to fall down in the middle of a man’s pee.

I have seen a plastic pan designed to fit under the tank to catch the drips. I don’t know where to get them, I saw it in a friend’s home.
